Develop life skills through the arts

Contrary to popular opinion music and art are not just for fun…

Don’t get me wrong, they are fun and can be a great source of enjoyment as a leisure activity, or for sharing with others in the living room, on YouTube, on the street or on the stage.  The sky is the limit!  You can take it as far as you want to and have as much fun as you want to.

But the thing people sometimes miss is the way that arts activities build important life skills that are critical for all around success, especially when the arts are a part of a kids life growing up.

High quality arts education activities:

  • encourage creative thinking and “outside the box” solutions to problems

  • build confidence through mastering skills and performance opportunities

  • increase hand-eye coordination

  • increase ability to pay attention to details and shoot for excellence

  • teach self-discipline and “sticking with a task”

In addition to this there is a growing body of research that has found that a musical education also benefits academic performance in other subject areas through:

  • increased mental focus

  • stimulating critical areas of the brain that contribute to academic success

A musical or artistic education through Carolyn’s Creative in elementary school is excellent preparation for the Limestone District Board of Education’s Choices at 7 LEAP Program (Limestone Education through the Arts), Challenge Program, Secondary School music programs, and a number of other formal and informal performance opportunities.

Most important of all, Carolyn’s Creative can help you with your number one goal – developing a creative, confident kid.  Because we all know that creative, confident kids grow into creative, confident adults that are ready to take on the world.  We can help you get there!
